Freedom
Freedom – Tempted by Good
- Tim McConnell
Sep. 11
Even Peter got confused. The temptation to do right and thereby justify ourselves before God by our own good works is so very strong. We want to be in control of our salvation, so we attempt to prove ourselves holy by doing good. This actually causes us to become slaves of works righteousness, unable to participate in the freedom won by Jesus. How do we find that freedom? We die to ourselves and live to Christ. We must give up our self-individuation project and submit fully to Christ. Christ gave his life on the cross so that you could have life to the fullest. It means trusting Him with your whole life, resting on grace and being saved rather than trying to save yourself.
