First Pres Library
For those who may not know, our First Pres Library has been an integral part of supporting ministry beyond just providing a place to purchase curriculum. It has served as an hub of learning and a resource for documenting our rich history of living out being Light and Life for the City.
Tragically, in March 2023, our sprinkler system failed causing a false fire alarm and the deluge safety system flooded the library. Most of the books were saved and are in safe storage as we continue the process of renovating the space after cleanup.
So much care and hard work was contributed towards building and maintaining the library throughout the years. We celebrate the heart of service exemplified by our church library and its dedicated volunteers, especially Janet Wilcox.
Her leadership transformed the library into a nurturing space, reflecting our commitment to ministry and being Light and Life for the City! We invite you to delve into opportunities to volunteer, whether in the library or other ministries, and experience the ultimate joy of serving others. Join us in continuing this legacy of love and support!
At First Pres, our Church Library stands as a testament to the spirit of service that defines our community. Under the devoted leadership of Janet Wilcox, our library became a sanctuary of knowledge and support, where volunteers warmly welcomed everyone seeking guidance. Inspired by Janet’s example, we invite you to explore various volunteer opportunities within our church. Join us in being Light and Life for the City as we make a difference together!
We are working alongside architects and a general contractor for our remodel project. In September, we selected a concept and the architect is drawing up plans and renders currently. The new furniture and millwork have been selected and purchased and will help our new library space be a welcoming and warm environment. Our goal is to complete the new space renovation by the first or second quarter of 2025. Along with the new library hub, we'll also add multiple book kiosks around the campus for literature distribution.
Stay tuned for updates and drawings to be shared here.
