Redeemed

Redeemed From Saving Ourselves - Tim McConnell

Mar. 6

Jesus is our Redeemer who purchases us with a ransom price. He paid it on the cross by his blood. By paying the penalty for our sins against the law, Jesus redeemed us from the obligation to save ourselves by keeping the law—something we never could have done! We can’t earn our salvation by good works. Religious performance is an empty way of life (1 Peter 1:18). Jesus wins it for us by paying the price. The price is paid by Jesus, who is God, to the Father, who is God. This is God’s way of salvation He has made for us, as way that God is both just and the one who saves and justifies (verse 26) those who have faith in Jesus. If I tried to save myself by obeying all that the law requires, I would only make it worse. I have to receive the gift of righteousness Jesus purchased for me and be Redeemed.
