Rev. Matt Holtzman recently began serving as Caring Ministries Pastor at First Presbyterian Church. Having been part of the First Pres staff for over 17 years and ordained in August 2020, Matt now leads the Caring Ministries department to ensure that no one hurts alone. Matt’s ministry has always lived at the intersection of shepherding and worship. He provides pastoral care to individuals and families in seasons of grief, illness, and life transition, while also continuing to use his musical gifts from time to time. Beyond First Pres, Matt serves as the lead for COS I Love You’s annual citywide worship gathering, a role that reflects his passion to see believers across Colorado Springs worship together in unity. Matt and his wife, Brooke, have been married for 25 years. Their oldest son, Samuel, is now out on his own, Luke is a graduating senior, and Micah is a high school sophomore.
