Give Back the Blessing 2023

The Give Back the Blessing offering is an opportunity for your gifts to help our brothers and sisters in ministry stretch their resources. Our Mission Engagement offering will bless two local partners, Catholic Charities of Central Colorado and Springs Rescue Mission, along with our partners Eliu and Edgar at Socorro in San Pablo, Guatemala. Locally, our Mission Engagement Ministry has recognized the growing need for transitional and affordable housing for marginalized groups in our community, specifically women and families experiencing homelessness. As of 2022, the “Point TimeCount” identified 152 families in our community living without a home, representing a 21 percent increase from 2020. More families are on the waiting list for transitional housing that is available. And an increasing number of women are seeking services from Springs Rescue Mission. In response to this stark reality, Springs Rescue Mission and Catholic Charities are building transitional housing for women and families in our community.

To participate, a collection will be taken during any of our four services on Palm Sunday, April 2nd. You can also give by clicking the button below to give electronically, just be sure to select "Give Back the Blessing" from the list of drop down accounts.

Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities is renovating the Helen Hunt Campus at the Family Connections Center to create at least 21 transitional apartments for Colorado Springs families. That will also provide easy access to a wide variety of services offered by the Family Connections Center as these families strive for stability. Our goal is to give Catholic Charities of Central Colorado $70,000 to help complete this project.

Spring Rescue Mission

Springs Rescue Mission is working to complete its 4U Motel project. The motel was purchased by a generous donor and is being converted into programmatic housing for women exiting homelessness, one of the most underserved groups in Colorado Springs. A gift of $50,000 will renovate six kitchens in these apartments.

Water for Guatemala

In Guatemala, Eliu and Edgar at Socorro need to expand their water purification system to multiply access to clean water in their community. First Pres’ gift will also help fund their other ministry initiatives—including microloans, school scholarships, and the children’s church. Our goal is to provide $15,000 to aid these initiatives and the people of Guatemala.
