God's Mission Has A Church

God Sends a People - Tim McConnell

Feb. 20

Just as God revealed His mission to Abraham as a mission for a people, that God was planning to bless all nations through the chosen nation, now we see that the mission of God plays out through the deployment of a church. The ekklesia is the body called and sent by God to be the arms and feet of Jesus, to be the witness to the character of Jesus Christ, to be the instrument of God’s mission to redeem. The church is a priesthood of all believers, conveying God to a fallen world and consecrating the fallen world to God as much as possible. Christianity is not a solo sport. We go together, and together we show God’s love to a fallen world. F.F. Bruce says that the church is “God's pilot scheme for the reconciled universe of the future.”
