Marleen Wren is delighted to answer God’s call to join staff at First Pres after attending for over 8 years. She and her husband Darren returned to COS in 2014 after a hiatus in Los Angeles for his doctoral of chiropractic program. Living, worshiping, and serving in downtown LA challenged their perspective on hospitality, loving the least of those, and contentment in living small. It took them no time to identify that downtown COS is where they needed to plant their family, but it was the outreach of First Pres that encouraged them to put down roots in this congregation. Their two daughters, Abigail 10 and Charlotte 3, remember only First Pres and call it their second home. Marleen enjoys her intergenerational interactions with attendees and role as encourager for the Welcome Team most. This role calls upon her previous experiences managing senior living communities, volunteer coordinating and board work, and even retail property management. God has His timing and Marleen feels equally blessed to be working for Him in hosting here at First Pres. Please be sure to introduce your guests to her at the Welcome Desk upon their visit!
