Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs was recognized by U.S. News and World Report as the nation's #1 most desirable city in 2019 and consistently ranks high on the list of the nation's best places to live. With Pikes Peak (elevation 14,115’) towering over the beautiful downtown center, Colorado Springs has a skyline rivaled by few. The strong economy, diverse social life and spectacular scenery are evident from the day you arrive.

Many top companies, development and relief organizations, ministries, sports organizations and government agencies are located in the city. Perhaps the most notable of these are the U.S. Olympic Committee and Training Center, Focus on the Family and Young Life. The city has a vibrant social life and culture. The Pikes Peak Center offers performances from around the world while the many local coffee shops and hip hangouts add to the offering with the latest indie music.

Colorado Springs is the place to be for those who love the outdoors, with bright sunny days and a comfortable year-round climate. Hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and, of course, skiing are regular favorites of many residents. The Springs, as it is known locally, is home of two of the most beautiful city parks in the nation, Garden of the Gods and North Cheyenne Canyon. There are also state parks and national forest immediately adjacent to the city. You can go from a lively moment in the city to an exceptional experience in the Rocky Mountains in just minutes.

First Pres Colorado Springs

First Presbyterian Church (ECO) is situated in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs and has outstanding relationships throughout the community. The church has served our city in the name of Christ and provided key leadership since 1872, just months after the city was founded. We are a five-generation church full of men and women who love Jesus, know His Word and serve Him wholeheartedly. The ministry of the church extends far beyond its walls. In partnership with other churches and 20 local agencies we serve and help to lead many initiatives in our community. We also have extensive partnerships around the world, with focus areas in Egypt, Mongolia, Cuba and Guatemala.

Each Sunday more than 2,000 worshipers gather for four services in two modes of vibrant worship. It is truly a come-as-you-are-church with some worshiping in shorts and sandals while others come in a coat and tie. Lead Pastor Dr. Tim McConnell preaches directly from the Scriptures with a dynamic vision for living a Kingdom life and a heart for people to know Jesus and to grow and abound in Him. Having taught theology courses for another Fellows program, Tim has a love for Fellows and passion for the entire Fellows Initiative.
