Ash Wednesday

The Ash Wednesday service begins the season of Lent, a time of prayer and preparation as we move toward the celebration of Easter. This year's service is Wednesday, February 14 at 6:30 p.m. The name “Ash Wednesday” comes from the ancient practice of applying ashes to the heads of worshipers as a sign of humility before God, a reminder of our frail humanity, and a symbol of sorrow over the death that sin brings into the world. Ash Wednesday is a day for reflection on and repentance of the things that need to change in our lives as we continue to follow Jesus Christ as His disciples.
